TEHRAN — Major General Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has declared that any diplomatic resolution to regional hostilities will require a complete Israeli military withdrawal from occupied territories in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Speaking on preconditions for broader diplomatic engagement—including negotiations with the United States—Rezaei asserted that Israel cannot sustain multi-front combat and will ultimately be forced to retreat.
“The most important condition for any understanding is a complete end to the aggression across the region, particularly in Lebanon and Gaza, and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied lands,” Rezaei stated.
The senior security official designated Beirut and its southern suburbs as a “red line” for Tehran, warning that regional security remains interconnected. Rezaei added that broader geopolitical issues, such as security guarantees along key maritime transit corridors, cannot be separated from an immediate cessation of military operations in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
